Sommeliers Choice Awards 2023 Winners

Award Winning Wines are made in Luna Vineyards, Napa Valley

Luna Vineyards’ two shining stars, 2016 Chardonnay and 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon have been awarded by a major wine competition in London.

19/07/2018

The journey of Luna Vineyards started when the founders first saw the Luna property in 1995. The place is perfectly located along the Silverado Trail. Luna Vineyards is a first family-owned winery to plant and grow Italian varietal Pinot Grigio.

2016 Chardonnay and 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon are created and hand-crafted by award-winning winemaker, Shawna Miller. 2016 Chardonnay is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes. The notes of lemon and honey fill its nose. The wine is so delicious on the palate with notes of tangerine, creamy toasted almonds, green apple and citrus. 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is no less than any other wine of this winery. It has an amazing nose filled with notes of currants, black cherries, cedar and anise. The notes of plums, vanilla, and black tea rock the palate.

Both the wines from Luna Vineyards offer the great value for premium wines. Grapes are sourced from California and crafted with the best of traditional wine-making techniques which give them superb colour and pleasing taste.

Both the Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon were honoured by 2018 London Wine Competition with gold and silver medals respectively. The 2016 Chardonnay was named “Best in Show by Country” and “Best in Show by Varietal”.

The competition strongly believes that one should judge the wine on the basis of its look, value and quality because that is how a consumer will assess any wine before buying it. 2019 London Wine Competition is going to be held in London on March 21-22.
