Top Beverages debuts CBD-infused Spice Collection

UK-based cannabidiol (CBD) drinks producer Top Beverages has launched a CBD-infused Spice Collection, comprising a rum, a Bloody Mary-inspired gin, and a masala-flavored vodka.

31/10/2019

Founded in the UK in January 2019, Top Beverages distills its products in Scotland and claims to be a “leading luxury CBD craft distiller creating original small-batch spirits”. The company said it meets EU standards relating to CBD and THC content.

Top Beverages unveiled its first expressions under One Brand in August this year: CBD Craft Spiced Rum – Navy Strength and CBD Craft Gin.

Every expression from Top Beverages has been bottled at 54.5% ABV and distilled with full-spectrum CBD “as opposed to hemp seed oil that the majority of spirit companies use”, the firm said.

The new Spice Collection comprises Top’s Spiced Rum, Masala Vodka, and Bloody Mary Gin.

“I was brought up with spicy food, so it was quite natural to experiment with spices in the classic spirits,” said Saf Ali, co-founder of Top Beverages.

“The challenge for us was to maximise the robust flavours of the various spices without overpowering the spirit. After nearly a year of work, we have delivered the finest notes of both spice and spirit, looking to break ground in a staid market place.”

Top’s Spiced Rum is produced using fermented molasses that are distilled twice using four copper plates. After distillation, cassia bark, orange peel, ginger, and Indian vanilla pods are added.

The Masala Vodka is triple-distilled using 100% renewable energy and passed through three copper plates. It is also made with fresh Indian vanilla pods, green cardamom, cassia bark, cloves, nutmeg, ginger root and a slight hint of anise.

The Bloody Mary Gin is distilled using fresh cherry tomatoes, celery and a hint of spice to deliver a “unique spin” on the classic cocktail.
