Jack Daniel’s Debuts Heritage Barrel whiskey
Jack Daniel’s has extended its Single Barrel Collection with the launch of a limited edition whiskey that “celebrates the historic art of barrel-making”.
The new Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Heritage Barrel has been made using “unique barrel toasting techniques of the earliest coopers”.
Master Distiller Jeff Arnett and his team selected from hand-crafted ‘heritage barrels’ that were slowly heated to achieve a “deeper, richer toasted layer” before being charred.
The expression was then matured at a lower proof in one of the highest elevated barrel houses in Lynchburg, Tennessee, and then bottled at 50% abv.
It is described as a “flavourful and rich” whiskey with “warm notes of vanilla and sweet baking spices, with a lingering finish of oak”.
“The unique barrel toasting behind Heritage Barrel creates a flavour you won’t find in any other single barrel expression,” said Arnett.
“We believe we’ve made a whiskey that would make our earliest coopers and Mr. Jack himself proud.”
Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Heritage Barrel is available in a 750ml format with a suggested retail price of US$64.99. It is limited to 200 barrels.
Earlier this week, Jack Daniel’s launched a limited edition range of experimental whiskeys, called the Tennessee Tasters’ Selection.
