A new Irish Whiskey from Clonakilty Distillery has been aged in oak barrels that previously held Pelican Brewing’s acclaimed Mother of All Storms English-style Barleywine. Clonakilty Mother of All Storms Cask Finish Irish Whiskey will be available exclusively in Oregon and at the Clonakilty tasting room in Ireland. Pelican Brewing will be pouring the whiskey and creating a special cocktail using it at their brewpubs, but to purchase a bottle you need to go to an Oregon liquor store.

Just 1,500 bottles of Clonakilty Mother of All Storms Cask Finish Irish Whiskey will be released on Monday, October 5th via the Oregon Liquor Control Center retailing at $59.95 ABV: 46% ABV (92 proof).

More info from a press release by Clonakilty:

Mother of All Storms beer has a legendary following among discerning enthusiasts, so Clonakilty Distillery decided to take things one step further by imbuing their premium Irish whiskey with the flavours of Pelican’s multi award-winning barrel-aged beer.

A select number of these casks were handpicked to embark on a pilgrimage from the shores of Oregon to the rugged Atlantic coastline of Clonakilty.

Upon arrival from their trans-Atlantic voyage, these casks were filled with the finest of Irish whiskeys at Clonakilty’s cliff-side ocean warehouse. Through interacting with the surrounding maritime environment, the spirit developed a unique and distinct coastal influence as well as undertaking beautiful notes of crushed almonds, biscuit, toffee and whispers of vanilla from its new found vessel.
