Joe Hehl, a vegan recipe creator, partners up with Alarmist Brewing in Chicago to brew a limited edition vegan beer. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to My Block, My Hood, My City, a nonprofit community organization that supports underprivileged youth by providing opportunities and experiences with an exposure-based education program.

Joe, known for his blog Dragged Through the Garden, told VegOut, “I thought it would be fun to brew a beer that didn’t need to be looked up on Barnivore to determine whether or not it was vegan and to shed light on the fact that IPAs (India Pale Ale) don’t always need lactose (or honey). One dollar from every 4-pack will be donated to My Block, My Hood, My City, and I’ll be matching a percentage of donations out of pocket as well.” He hopes everyone (over the age of 21) can enjoy the beer, while supporting a local nonprofit organization in Chicago.
