Two and a half years ago, Chicago’s legendary burger joint launched a branded India pale ale and pilsner with Chicago-based Baderbrau Brewing in a bid to convert its famed brand to beer store shelves. It had previously done the same with frozen hamburgers.
The dream quickly went awry; within six months, and much to the surprise of Billy Goat co-owner Bill Sianis, Baderbrau went out of business.
