The Brand
Kellermeister was established by Ralph Jones in 1976 and named in honour of his German mother whose original maiden name was ‘Keller’. Being the only son of an English father and a German mother, Ralph Jones’ was an embodiment of the early settlement of the Barossa. His vision was ‘to play the curtain raiser’ in the Barossa Valley making wines of unique character from small parcels of premium fruit.

Barossa winery Kellermeister's flagship Shiraz, Wild Witch, has taken the world's biggest international wine competition by storm, winning the Best Barossa Shiraz Trophy, Best Australian Shiraz Trophy and Best International Shiraz Trophy in London.
The International Wine Challenge (IWC), the world's largest wine competition, is often referred to as The Oscars of the Wine World and in 2012 accepted more than 12,000 wines from every major wine producing country and region.

Today,Kellermeister is one of the Barossa Valley’s oldest boutique wine brands. Having established considerable pedigree over the years, the winery has also achieved significant success on the world stage, and is rated as a Red Five Star winery by Australia’s most acclaimed wine critic James Halliday, placing it in the top 7% of Australian producers.
Since accepting Ralph Jones’ invitation to lead Kellermeister in 2009, Mark Pearce has been committed to maintaining and improving the quality of Kellermeister’s wines, and in 2012 the Pearce family purchased the winery from founders Ralph and Val Jones.The same year, the winery shot to fame with its icon Shiraz Wild Witch winning ‘Best Shiraz in the World’ on the wine world’s biggest stage – the International Wine Challenge, in London.

Storyboard Collection
The Storyboard Collection is a range of wines that are inspired by and intrinsically connected to the places, people and the circumstances that surround their making.
Sourced from the heart of the Barossa,this range reflects Kellermeister’s dedication to creating wines with regional character,varietal flavour and individual personality. Only premium parcels of fruit are chosen from our dedicated family of Barossa growers, many of whom are the fifth and sixth generation of their own family farming the same vineyard property.
The Storyboard Collection is testament to the innovation of the Barossa’s early settlers. The range represents the Pearce family’s admiration for the district’s founders, respect for generational growers, and appreciation for living in a region bound with integrity and provenance.

Threefold Farm Collection
Threefold Farm collection is a unique site on the lower slopes of the Eastern Range in the Barossa Valley. The vineyard is planted with the Barossa’s three most revered varieties: Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro.
Threefold Farm employs a philosophy of sustainable farming and is named in honour of the original ‘Threefold Farm’ in New York state, USA, which was the first farm in the New World to employ biodynamic techniques in the 1920s.
The property is also home to Kellermeister’s Proprietors Mark and Susanna Pearce and their three children, after whom each of the three grape varieties planted is affectionately named: Hugo’s Shiraz is ‘The Firstborn’, Rupert’s Grenache is ‘Whiskers’ and Anne’s Mataro is ‘Missy Moo’.

The wines of the Icon Collection are hand-picked from select, low-yielding, dry-farmed vineyards, prior to being carefully fermented, gently pressed and matured in 100% new French oak for 24 months.
Kellermeister’sWildWitch is a wine ofWorld Class pedigree and showcases the most magical Barossa Shiraz of each vintage.WildWitch consistently displays a balance of power, dimension and elegance that ultimately contributed to the wine being crowned ‘Best Shiraz in the World’ on the world’s biggest stage - the International Wine Challenge, London, 2012.
Black Sash is crafted from the dark black fruit of some of the Barossa’s oldest shiraz vines.This iconic shiraz is named in memorial of the ‘survivors’ - those vines that are amongst the oldest in the world and which serve as a living reminder of the value of heritage and tradition in a world of constant change.

Our wildly popular Boots Cider was voted the best product, ahead of Coopers Vintage Ale, at the recent Adelaide Craft Beer and Cider Fest. Attendees at the show, held at the Arkaba Hotel, were asked to vote for their top five drinks, with our new Boots Cider beating out some very smart competition from over 70 other beers and ciders!
