Whites from the edge

About Amaral

Amaral is the most recent project in which MontGras Properties has ventured.

Established in 2006 in the heart of the promising Leyda Valley, near San Antonio, Amaral’s sole purpose is producing Super Premium white wines.

Today, with a team of 55 workers, we are developing the 650 hectares (1,600 acres) planted with Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Everybody knows that Chile has tremendous potential for producing superior quality whites with a comparative advantage.

Amaral from Leyda will definitely give something to talk about.

Winemakers's Comments

From Leyda, located in the heart of the San Antonio Valley, we wanted to show the unique characteristics of this region with our Amaral Chardonnay 2010. Apart from the closeness to the sea, Amaral is in the middle of a geological zone denominated as “batolito costero” (coastal mass of erupted rocks that formed an earth crust at great depth), in which granitic soils dominate. These soils mixed together well with the alluvial deposits coming from the Maipo River and Andes Mountains generated a very particular terrain that gives us exceptional quality fruit to create a wine with character.

Amaral - Sauvignon Blanc

2012 Sauvignon Blanc

Appearance Yellow with green notes.
Aromas

Fresh with elegant intensity, complexi. You can feel citric aromas such as mandarine and lime, some pear, grapefruit, and tropical fruit such as guayaba. All this rounded off with mineral notes. These characteristics, give the wine a special personality, a true reflection of its origin.

Flavours In mouth, we first feel the natural acidity that dominates in wines from this cool valley that along with its flavours give a very agreeable wine. It remains a long time in mouth due to its ample volume.
