Located in the serene nature of the Santa Monica Mountains one can find robust and young vineyards, fruiting endlessly and rapidly. AJA Vineyards was established in 2011 at the home of Todd and Heather Greenbaum and consists of three vineyards planted along the hillsides of their Malibu Estate. In 2007, carefully selected Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah vines were planted in the first vineyard. In the winter in February 2013 the second vineyard was planted with a meticulously researched blend of the 5 grapes that make up a Bordeaux-styled blend. And in March of 2018, a vibrant and exciting vineyard of Sauvignon Blanc was planted, to provide a fresh alternative to the delicious reds. Family is very important to the AJA recipe. It is in the name. AJA, though pronounced “ah-shah,” is an acronym for the names of Todd and Heather's three children, Alec, Jack and Amanda. They continue to be the inspiration for their desire to live a robust and happy life – oh, and also to produce great wine! The children provide them with a sense of family that drives them to make something special. Our Malibu Coast Syrah comes from the freshest grapes in the Malibu Coast AVA from our surrounding estate. This pool-side sipper has flavors of candy cherry and red raspberries jump out at your nose accompanied by some blackberry and vanilla. Our Proprietary Red Wine is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah grapes from our estate in Malibu. This delicious wine has flavors of dark cherry, raspberry and blackberry with mocha and vanilla. Savory notes of leather and black pepper help make this wine pair deliciously with cured meats and savory steaks. So, from our family to yours, we give you AJA wines.
