Vinicola de Bràfim (Padró) - Vins Padró
The Padró family winery is located just south of Barcelona in the heart of Catalonia’s oldest wine appellation - the Denominación de Tarragona. Wine prized for its excellent quality has been made in this area since Roman times and the Padró family is now in its fifth generation, producing a range of Mediterranean-style young and crianza wines (red, white and rosé) under the DO Tarragona and DO Catalunya appellations. We also make our own table wine in bottle and bag-in-box packaging. We use local autochthonous grapes such as tempranillo and garnacha for our reds and white garnacha, macabeo and xarel.lo for our whites. Macabeo and Xarel.lo are the grapes used in Cava and produce beautifully crisp, light whites whilst our reds are well-balanced and full-bodied but light and refreshing at the same time, so ideal for warm climates.
The Padró family philosophy is: do what you know and do it to the best of your ability, so even our table wines are carefully prepared in special coupages to ensure continuity in quality both inside the bottle and in terms of packaging. Our premium wines (the Ipsis range) and our vermouths are made from the family’s own grapes. Over the years, the Padró family has earned a solid reputation for offering a good price quality ratio (endorsed by consistently high star scores in Spain’s prestigious Guía Peñin).
