We are based in Monforte d'Alba and produce an average of 40,000 bottles a year. This is comprised of a mix of Barolo, Barbera, Nebbiolo and Methode Champenoise Sparkling Nebbiolo. We use 100% organic practices and are a 100% green winery. For 2 centuries we've cultivated our vineyards and let the territory tell its own story through our wines. Harvest after harvest, we discover deeper and deeper our roots in the lands of Langa. In 1975, Josetta Saffirio became one of the very first woman winemakers and today, her daughter Sara carries on the family tradition and in 1999 made her very first vintage at Josetta Saffirio winery. 2019 marks her 20th harvest!   Sara represents the fifth generation of farmers and with the same dedication as the first generation, she is committed to continuing a tradition now more than two hundred years old.  Cantina Saffirio is a family business. Sara tends the vineyards with love and passion, blending the traditions inherited from her grandparents with modern cultivation and production techniques. Sustainability and respect for the environment are the keywords: everything is oriented towards a view to reducing our carbon footprint, in order to bequeath to our children a healthy and generous land capable of producing some of the best wines in the world.We produce wines from indigenous varietals, such as Barbera and Nebbiolo to make the best expression of Barolo we can using large and small oak and never being afraid to experiment with againg and vinification techniques.
