Bononia Estate is a boutique winery, producer of high-quality Bulgarian wine. Located in North West part of Bulgaria, on the shore of the Danube river, the winery has focused on the typical for this terroir white wines and rosé, as well as on the delicate red wines. The main grape varieties that Bononia Estate grows are: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Gamza – indigenous variety that carry the character of the Danube river. Bononia Estate vineyards extend up to 1500 acres, located near the town of Vidin. The story behind this ambitious Bulgarian winery inherits and unites 3 centuries of tradition, as the original building was established in 1895 as one of the first breweries in Bulgaria, and was subsequently preserved, restored and turned into a winery.

In the summer of 2020, Bononia Estate plans to open a beautiful wine complex, built just 11 meters from the Danube river with modern manufacturing premises, a boutique hotel, a restaurant, several tasting rooms, a conference room, a swimming pool and SPA.
