Château du Breuil offers a full range of 17 different Calvados, from the most traditional to the most innovative, from a young and fruity two year-old to a prestigious decanter containing 45 year-old Calvados, going through cask-finished Calvados, Pot Still distillation, etc.
It is 2 to 3 years old and titrates 40%. It is the youngest Calvados of our range. Fresh, tonic, refined, vigorous, very fruity, it allows to discover the “Appellation Pays d’Auge Contrôlée” Calvados. It contains all the fragrances of Normandy. It has its own bottle whose registered design belongs to our company. It is ideal for cooking, pastry or for making cocktails. Its price makes it very affordable.
Colour: light gold.
Nose: fruity, green apple, lightly mentholated.
Palate: fresh and fruity, suave and subtle.
End of mouth: linden-tree.
It is 4 years old and titrates 40%. It is a young Calvados of our range. Fresh, tonic, refined, vigorous, fruity, it allows to discover the “Appellation Pays d’Auge Contrôlée” Calvados. It contains all the fragrances of Normandy. It has its own bottle whose registered design belongs to our company. Its minimum of four years of ageing give smoothness and roundness to the VSOP Château du Breuil Calvados.
Colour: light amber-colored.
Nose: fruity and complex with hints of ripe apple, fresh almond, light citrus (orange peel-lime) and quince.
Mouth: mild and well-rounded, ripe fruits, quince. Long finish with a light bitterness of almond and pit.
Calvados 8 ans d’âge “Réserve du Château”
It is 8 years old and it titrates 40%. It is a blending whose youngest Calvados is 8 years old. They all have slowly matured in oak casks. First Calvados among our “Hors d’Age” range (more than 6 years in casks), it is an ideal product of initiation into old Calvados thanks to its really good value for money. The apple is really present at tasting for the joy of the amateurs of freshness who also appreciate a long ageing. It is the Calvados of all the nice moments to share with friends. This Calvados stands out by a first nose of candied apple, then vanilla and nut and honey. In mouth, it is mild, well-rounded and well-balanced with hints of baked apple and woody. This Calvados has a long finish that tends towards fresh nut.
Nose: baked apple, vanilla and then honey and nut.
Palate: very smooth, mild and well balanced with hints of baked apple, woody. Good long finish that tends towards fresh nut.

Calvados 12 ans d’âge
This Appellation Pays d’Auge Contrôlée” Calvados is a blending of Calvados that have aged a minimum of 12 years in the oak casks of the Château du Breuil under the attentive care of the Cellar Master. It titrates 41%. It is characterized by an exceptional roundness that let aromas of apple, wood and almond express all their intensity in a refined and complex blend. It is a very well-balanced Calvados, a perfect harmony between the fruit and the wood.
Colour: dark amber.
Nose: fruity and spicy with notes of dry apricot, citrus and nutmeg and then hints of leather appear.
Mouth: mild and well-rounded attack with notes of cocoa, wood to finish with liquorice. The length in mouth is persistent and then hints of pit appear.
Calvados 15 ans d’âge
It is a blending of Calvados aged of a minimum of 15 years and it titrates 41%. In fact, it contains percentages of older Calvados that gives it all its nobleness. It lets in mouth a subtle taste of apple that gradually gives way to the refined alliances of the tannin of old Calvados. Voluptuous, strong and rich, for amateurs of great alcohols. Leader product of our range, this Calvados created the reputation of Château du Breuil among the Horeca world, and represents what an old Calvados of great quality can be: a perfect harmony between the apple and the wood, with underlying aromas. Nose: first nose of vanilla to finish with woody and toasted notes.
Palate: smooth and harmonious, apple and quince.
End of mouth: fresh nut and stone.
Calvados Réserve des Seigneurs XO 20 ans d’âge
It is a blending of Calvados aged between 20 and 25 years that titrates 41%. It has been selected among the noblest and oldest Calvados of the Château du Breuil cellars. By its very amber color and its strength in tannins, it brings the pleasure of the roundness of its aromas. A distinguished, graceful and supple Calvados. For the connoisseurs and amateurs of old and high quality spirits. To taste with close friends or connoisseurs where it will work wonders after a good meal or in front of a fireplace.
Nose: hints of leather, spices, and dried tobacco. Then it opens on aromas of torrefaction and bitter cocoa.
Palate: leather, cinnamon, honey, ripe quince and prune.
End of mouth: tobacco and liquorice, with a great long finish.
Calvados 7 ans d’âge Finition en fûts de Sherry Oloroso
This 7 years old Calvados “Finition en fûts Sherry Oloroso” (Sherry Oloroso finish) stayed several months in small French oak barrels which contained Sherry Oloroso wine. This method of ageing will reveal greedy and spicy notes to this Calvados which will seduce the greatest number of connoisseurs. Colour: Deep golden.
Nose: Nose opens with roasted apples and reveals slowly and successively notes of dried fruits (nuts, hazelnuts, prunes, grapes), spices (nutmeg, pepper).
On the palate: The palate, round and supple, of good length, finishes on woody notes (oak wood, note of cedar, vanilla).
Calvados 8 ans d’âge Finition en fûts de Porto
This eight-year-old Calvados 'Finition en Fûts de Porto' (Porto cask finish) stayed several months in small French oak barrels which contained Porto wine. Colour: light amber to orange.
Rich and complex nose: baked apple along with notes of plum, cherry and ripe strawberry. The mouth, round and supple with good length, ends on wooden notes.
Calvados 8 ans d’âge Finition en fûts de Coteaux du Layon
This 8 year old Calvados 'Finition en Fûts de Coteaux du Layon' (Coteaux du Layon cask finish) stayed several months in small French oak barrels which contained Coteaux du Layon wine from our namesake Château du Breuil. This method of ageing will reveal gourmet and fruity notes to this Calvados which will seduce the greatest number of connoisseurs. With this Calvados “Finition en fûts de Coteaux du Layon”, our Cellar Master has succeeded in developing an original and elegant Calvados, both traditional and innovative.
Colour: Nice golden yellow.
Nose: Powerful and complex. It offers oak and cedar notes, and fruity notes like baked apple, vanilla and dried apricot. At last, there are also spicy notes such as liquorice and cinnamon.
In mouth, this Calvados has a supple and long attack. The finish, more structured, opens gradually on wooden notes, liquorice and dried apricot. It reflects perfectly the aromatic nuances of the Pays d’Auge Calvados and the liqueur wines from the Coteaux du Layon.
Calvados 8 ans d’âge Finition en fûts de Sauternes
This 8 years old Calvados “Finition en fûts de Sauternes” (Sauternes finish) stayed several months in small French oak barrels which contained Sauternes wine. This method of ageing will reveal gourmet and fruity notes to this Calvados which will seduce the greatest number of connoisseurs. With this Calvados “Finition en fûts de Sauternes”, our Cellar Master has succeeded in developing an original and elegant Calvados, both traditional and innovative.
Colour: Golden yellow color.
Nose: Nose opens with notes of honey and acacia flower, followed by spicy aromas ( nutmeg ) to flourish on notes of apple sauce.
On the palate: This Calvados surprises by its sweetness and roundness, very balanced, without any heaviness. The aromas of apple, honey and spices are present in retro-olfaction, accompanied by notes of hazelnut.
Calvados 14 ans d’âge Finition en fûts de whisky
This is an innovative blending specially created by our Cellar Master inspired by the methods of “double maturing” used by many famous Scottish whiskies.The specificity of this 14 years old and 41% AOC Pays d’Auge Calvados is that it has aged the last 6 years at the Château in small oak casks that have already contained whisky (single malt from the Speyside Valley in Scotland). The result of this double maturation is totally surprising and exceptional. The nose is really different from a “traditional” Calvados. In mouth, behind the very present taste of fruit (it stays of course a great Calvados), subtle flavours of smoke, sea air and cereals appear. The oak wood impregnated with whisky gives a more aerial aspect and a subtle sea taste to this Château du Breuil Calvados.
This Calvados should please:
- First the whisky lovers, sensitive to the particular “pure” or “single” malts.
- But also the lovers of complex Calvados.
- All the spirits lovers looking for rare tastes.
Nose: complex, peaty, vegetal, malted, smoked and toasted.
Mouth: fruity, sea taste, mineral, cereals, smoked with subtle hints of undergrowth. The length in mouth is smoked.
Calvados Millésime 2002
This Calvados is not a blending. It has been distilled in 2002, which means that it has been made with the apples of 2001 (it is not like wine). This Calvados is still ageing because it is still into the oak casks. It is progressively bottled, according to the demand, which is very important for a vintage. Château du Breuil has decided to put on the market the most significant years only, like 2002. This year has brought this very complex and distinguished Calvados, with a unique taste of apple and wood. The bottling date is mentioned on the back label.
Colour: Intense gold.
Nose: Apple compote, wooden notes, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Mouth: Supple and long finish, with crème brûlée aromas.
Calvados 13 ans d’âge “Fût n°97” – 52.2% vol.
This specially selected 'Pays d’Auge' Calvados is the result of thirteen years of ageing in the Château du Breuil cellars. It comes only from the cask n° 97: so it is not a blending. This cask has been selected for its very high quality. Its percentage of alcohol of 52°2 has been obtained after a small reduction by natural evaporation known as the “Angel’s share”. A racy and genuine Calvados, to drink neat or with a little bit of pure water. A Calvados for connoisseurs in the same spirit as “cask strength” whiskies.
Nose: dominating Tarte Tatin and leather aromas, then followed by almonds, cacao and pepper aromas.
Mouth: dompleted with a drop of water, the “fût 97” reveals at its best all of its strength and complexity. The sensation of roundness and fullness in mouth is accompanied first by aromas of leather and tobacco, and to finish by aromas of nutmeg and aniseed.
The “Royal” Calvados is an exceptional product. A real trip to the paradise of taste. It titrates 41%. The “Royal” is one of the secrets of the company Château du Breuil. We cannot tell everything about its making that is the perfect illustration of the Cellar Master’s expertise. It is an ageless Calvados. Indeed our Cellar Master during his tastings finds a Calvados with an exceptional potential and puts it in a big cask where it is forgotten. In this big cask there is the Château du Breuil “Royal” Calvados that contains very old Calvados. So he obtains a blending with a unique and absolutely prodigious taste: a very old Calvados, dark, rich, voluptuous, with a very long finish because it is very old and a little filtered so that he keeps all the aromas it has acquired during his very long stay hidden from view and light. That is the Calvados of the great Masters, of exceptional people who content with the best.
Colour: dark brown.
Nose: rich and voluptuous with aromas of cocoa, dried tobacco, leather, nutmeg and then opens on aromas of coffee grains and torrefaction.
Mouth: subtle first taste of almond that tends towards long notes of dried tobacco.
Calvados 30 ans d’âge
Our '30 ans d’Age' Calvados Pays d’Auge is an exceptional product. A real trip in the universe of very prestigious Calvados. It titrates 41% vol. and is part of the Château du Breuil ‘s great secrets. It reflets the know-how of several generations of passionnate Cellar Masters. Each bottle is numbered and signed by our Cellar Master.
Mahogany colour with a nice intensity.
The first nose evokes cinnamon, candied fruits, oak wood. Then it develops on notes of beeswax, Tarte Tatin and finally notes of cedar, orange peel an dark tabacoo.
The mouth, round and full bodied, has an exceptional length. The Tatin aromas are emphasized by notes of roasting (coffee, dark chocolate), caramel, dried almond and liquorice.
Calvados “4 Siècles de Légende”
In 2013, it was only fitting for Château du Breuil to introduce a new product in tribute to its four centuries of existence. The Calvados, which is presented in a specially-designed Saint-Louis crystal decanter, bears the name “4 Centuries of Legend”.Blending the Calvados was the pinnacle of a particularly complex elaboration process, the secrets of which are held by our Cellar Master. Dipping into our “library” of the best, most prestigious Calvados of various ages - some of which have been ageing for 40 years - he made selections from small casks that have been maturing with attentive, individual care.
Nose: frank attack of candied quince, Tatin apple pie and spices. It then opens slowly towards aromas of dried fruits, then grapes and prune.
Mouth: complex, then opens on aromas of coffee beans, new leather and tobacco. Honey and hazelnut then invite you to a final pinnacle of an exceptional length. A pure paradise.
Pommeau de Normandie
Sprung from the harmonious marriage of apple juice an Calvados, the Pommeau de Normandie is flaming like autumn in the Pays d’Auge. It is a soft with character. The sweetness of the apple and the Calvados aged in oak casks makes it an original aperitif and dessert wine. Served chilled, it will make his way appreciate the tradition of the Château du Breuil Calvados.
Nose: fresh and fruity with aromas of baked apple, quince and dried date.
Mouth: Fruity, light, well-matured, with hints of stewed apples and apricot..
It is not a Calvados. It is a fruit brandy, made with plums (greengage, French selected cherry plums). It titrates 41%. This brandy is not distilled at the Château du Breuil (forbidden by the law) but it is ageing there in oak casks for about six years, under the attentive care of the Cellar Master. In ageing, the “Vieille Prune” becomes supple and acquires its woody and so particular well-rounded taste. A product to discover for the amateurs of representative and racy fruit brandies.
Nose: well-rounded and fruity with hints of fresh almond, frangipane and pit.
Mouth: fresh, well-rounded, fruity with aromas of prune, fresh almond and pit.
