PRADOREY’s history dates back to 1503 when the Earl of Ribadeo sold the Real Sitio de Ventosilla estate to Queen Isabella I of Castile, belonging to the Crown of Castile until 1521 when King Charles I bestowed the estate to the 2nd Marquis of Denia.
In 1600 his descendant the Duke of Lerma initiated its exploitation as an agricultural and livestock farm and also built the Palace.
The estate belonged to the Crown until the 19th century when it became the property of the Duke of Caldas who sublet it. After 1921 it became privately owned and became a model for the running of both agriculture and livestock.

Innovation and Tradition applied to PRADOREY’s wines
PRADOREY is located in the eastern part of the Ribera del Duero with a unique altitude, terrain, climate and soil composition that make it one of the top quality areas. With 3.000 hectares, the estate houses 520 hectares of vineyards with other crops. The vinyards consist of 8 well-differentiated areas, depending on their altitude, orientation and soil. Vines over 100 years old were selected from different parts of Ribera del Duero. This allowed us to recover some unique pre-phylloxera vines, such as the Élite plantar.
PRADOREY’s main goal is to make honest wines that are a reflection of their terroir and capture the true essence of its grapes, tradition and technology working together to attain the best of wines that make their mark.
