Gatt Wines

Handcrafted wines from acclaimed terroir in Australia’s High Eden and Barossa Valley wine region - Now looking for Importer in USA.

INTRODUCTION

Gatt wines originate from a land of timeless beauty and ancient soil in Australia’s leading wine district, the Barossa. The celebrated region is home to some of the greatest old vine vineyards in the world. The fine Australian wine estate has built a reputation for quality and achieved worldwide acclaim.

HISTORY

Gatt Wines

The famous Barossa wine region has shaped the landscape of Australian wine with a proud history dating back to the 1840s. First established in 1972, the Gatt estate is comprised of two uniquely different and rewarding single vineyard terroirs: beautiful High Eden country at the pinnacle of Eden Valley and rich soils grounded in the heart of Barossa Valley.

The 50 hectare Gatt estate takes it name from owner, Mr Ray Gatt who fell in love with Eden Springs vineyard in 2006. He set about revitalising the old vines that are the pride of the estate and commenced restoring the historic Siegersdorf vineyard soon after. Building a state of the art new winery, his goal was simply to create wine of absolute quality and expression. The first wines under the Gatt banner were released from the 2008 vintage, heralding a new era for the estate.

Raised in a Barossa wine family, he learned traditional techniques handed down by his father and honed his craft at the prestigious Roseworthy Agricultural College.
